Read more about which CTA\u2019s are best for each type of Pinterest pin plus some examples of effective calls to action I use every day!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the best ways to grow your Pinterest account and traffic is by diversifying the content you\u2019re sharing. Now when I say diversifying content, I don\u2019t just mean <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">what<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you\u2019re sharing, but <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">how<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you\u2019re sharing it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How you share your Pinterest content would be through the different Pin formats. I recommend consistently creating and Pinning a combination of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/emileevales.com\/staging\/9789\/the-4-pillars-of-your-pinterest-strategy-imagesimages\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Standard Pins and Video Pins<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each of these types of Pins serve a different purpose and need a place in your Pinterest strategy in order to see growth over time. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/emileevales.com\/staging\/9789\/3-content-strategy-tips-for-pinterest\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can learn more about content diversification and the role it plays in your Pinterest marketing strategy here.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that we know why we need to be creating the different Pin formats, let\u2019s take a look at <\/span><b>how<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to get Pinners to take action on our different Pins!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>What Is a \u201cCall-To-Action\u201d?<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I recently made a TikTok video that was titled \u201c10 CTA\u2019s to try on your Pinterest Pins\u201d. I had one TikTok user comment, \u201cWhat\u2019s a CTA?\u201d. So I thought it would be good to establish that now before we move further into what CTA\u2019s we should be using on our Pins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A call-to-action is a marketing term. It\u2019s a prompt that you\u2019re giving your audience to take a specific desired action. The best way to get your audience to sign up for a freebie, make a purchase, read your content, etc. is to tell them <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">exactly<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> what you want them to do!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seems like a no-brainer, right?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well actually, it sounds silly, but it can be something that\u2019s easy to forget to include! I\u2019ll make a great Video Pin that\u2019s super educational and sometimes I forget to add my CTA!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It happens to all of us, but it\u2019s really a best practice to train yourself to always add a CTA to all of the content you\u2019re creating.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You also don\u2019t always have to be saying, \u201cbuy, buy, buy\u201d. Like I mentioned earlier, you can even just use the CTA as a way to build your following and your email list via free offers!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How To Use a Call-To-Action on Pinterest<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can use a call-to-action a few different ways on Pinterest. Here are a couple of different ways you can add a call-to-action to your Pinterest content:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add a CTA through the text overlay on your Pins. You\u2019ll want to make sure that it\u2019s visible enough that Pinners won\u2019t overlook it! Also, test different ways you display your CTA to see what performs best for you and your audience.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a Video where you\u2019re actually talking to the camera and you tell your audience what you want them to do. Here\u2019s a breakdown of what your CTA could be for each Pin format you\u2019re sharing!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Standard Pins<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ahhh Standard Pins, there has been some controversy as to whether they\u2019re still \u201ceffective\u201d or not, but that\u2019s a debate for another day. Here\u2019s what you need to know for right now &#8211; They\u2019re good for driving traffic and they still need to be integrated into everyone\u2019s strategy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No, you didn\u2019t misread that. I just said they\u2019re good for driving traffic. Yup. You might be thinking, \u201cIsn\u2019t that what all Pins are supposed to do on Pinterest?\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, not exactly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some Pins are better than others for driving specific actions on Pinterest, such as visiting your website. With that said, Standard Pins are a solid way to get people from Pinterest to your website.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m going to provide you with a list of CTA\u2019s you can use on your Pinterest Pins. Before I do this though, I want to mention that you need to think about where you\u2019re linking your Pinterest Pin to because that obviously impacts your CTA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, if you\u2019re sending someone to a sales page, you want to make it clear that you\u2019re going to ask them to purchase something. They can be used to hook your audience in on Pinterest and tell a story with a beginning, middle, and end.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Food bloggers, crafts, DIY, and sensory activities for kids are examples of niches where I\u2019ve watched some really engaging videos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Video Pins are good for getting people to click on your Pins and save them. They can also drive people to your website. But because the user experience is a bit different than Standard Pins, I don\u2019t find they always drive as much traffic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can try one of two things with your Video Pins:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can put a CTA in the Pin description, but NOT on top of the Video. This means that you would let the video speak for itself.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can put a CTA as a text overlay on the video, or actually include it IN the video.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I would recommend testing both and also doing some market research. You can research different types of niches (like polar opposite niches, nails, and food) to see what content creators are doing with their videos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I never recommend copying, but it can be helpful to get inspiration from other creators who have their Pins ranking the highest in your niche.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As far as <\/span><b>WHAT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the CTA says, you could use phrases similar to the ones I shared for Standard Pins. Once again, you\u2019d just want to make sure that the CTA is relevant to what you&#8217;re linking the Pin to.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Followers definitely do matter on Pinterest, so a great CTA for your video pins is to follow you! You can share this via talking to the video or even include it in the text overlay. Here are some different CTA\u2019s I\u2019ve used for building my following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow me for more Pinterest marketing tips<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow to learn more about Pinterest<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow for more<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow to learn Pinterest marketing for your business<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow for more free tutorials<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I think you get the idea.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Now onto saves&#8230;<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saves is a good indicator to the Pinterest algorithm that your content is high-quality and should be pushed out to more people. Not to mention, when someone saves your Pin, all of their followers see it, so it creates a snowball effect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You don\u2019t have to get crazy with your CTA\u2019s for people saving your Pin, you can simply say:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Save this Pin for later<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Save this tutorial<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Save this Pin<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">See how it\u2019s pretty straightforward? You can include this verbiage either in the text overlay or within the video. I do a lot of talking videos, so I say it in my videos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The last call-to-action for your Video Pins can be to see the link in your profile. Your domain will be the link in your profile, and if you\u2019re like me, you have a website strategy so that people are led to what you want them to do once they land on your profile.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One important thing to note about telling people to go to the link in your profile is that it\u2019s not a reason to make your Video Pins ambiguous. You do not want to \u201ctease\u201d people or leave them hanging, you need to share a fully conceptualized idea.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is what Pinterest tells us to do and that\u2019s what I follow. When you share really great high-quality content, that\u2019s when you start getting a lot of saves, engagement, AND followers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And guess what, they\u2019re following you, they\u2019re going to see your Standard Pins and your Video Pins, and eventually, they\u2019ll probably be going to your website regardless!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pretty cool how that works, right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>That\u2019s a Wrap<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whew, okay, I think I\u2019ve given you enough ideas for one day!
