Today\u2019s post will help you understand <\/span><\/i><b><i>what<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Pinterest conversions are and the reasons why your Pinterest traffic isn&#8217;t converting.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve been following me for long, then it\u2019s no secret that I\u2019ve become really invested in marketing on TikTok for the past 6 months!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I bring up TikTok because my audience is really engaged on that specific platform. I\u2019ve been asked some really great questions about Pinterest marketing for business owners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most common question I\u2019ve been asked lately is, \u201cI\u2019m getting high views and engagement, but no sales or conversions &#8211; and I\u2019m not sure why?\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This can be super frustrating. As much as we want to serve and inspire our audience, at the end of the day we\u2019re running a business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>What are Pinterest Conversions?<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before we discuss <\/span><b><i>how<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to convert your audience on Pinterest, let\u2019s talk about <\/span><b><i>what<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a conversion!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, actually, there are multiple types of conversions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your Pinterest strategy should dictate what type of conversions you\u2019re going for on the platform!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are a few different types of conversions you could be going for (below I\u2019m referring to a Pinterest user as a \u201cPinner\u201d):<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Converting a Pinner from clicking on your Pin to clicking through to your website<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Converting a Pinner from your blog post to an email subscriber via your lead magnet (your free offer)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Converting a Pinner to a paying customer (aka getting the direct sale!)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, I would love to get direct sales from Pinterest. But because I have a higher-priced course, I know that a better strategy for me is to use Pinterest to build my email list. Then, once I get people in my funnel, I can nurture and convert them there!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>What You Might Be Experiencing on Pinterest Currently<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Right now, you might fall within one of the scenarios:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019re not getting any views\/engagement or conversions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019re getting a lot of views and engagement on Pinterest, but no sales<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ve had pretty steady conversions with Pinterest, but you know you\u2019d like to increase this number and it\u2019s currently plateaued\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most common scenario I\u2019m seeing and being asked about is scenario 2: high views\/engagement and no sales!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>4 Different Reasons Why Your Pinterest Traffic Isn\u2019t Converting<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now to the real question, how do we actually convert your audience over on Pinterest?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m going to give you 4 different reasons why your Pinterest traffic isn\u2019t converting. Then I&#8217;ll show you what you can do to improve your conversions for your long-term strategy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I want to make a special note. Notice that I mentioned, \u201cimproving your conversions for your long term strategy\u201d. I say \u201clong term\u201d, because Pinterest takes time!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pinterest is a search engine and depending on where your ideal customer is within your funnel, it can obviously impact how long the conversion takes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Okay, so let\u2019s dive into why your Pinterest traffic isn\u2019t converting!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>1. You are Only Making Idea Pins, and\/or Not Diversifying Your Pinterest Content<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Idea Pins absolutely need to be a part of a balanced Pinterest strategy. They\u2019re the newest Pin format, they\u2019re engaging, AND Pinterest is telling us to make them!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, this does not mean you need to go overboard on them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019ve had some business owners tell me that they\u2019re ONLY making Idea Pins because they typically \u201cget the most impressions\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Idea Pins are a great way to build your engagement, and yes, boost those monthly views. But Monthly views do not equate to sales!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can tag products and affiliates in your Idea Pins. But, depending on where the Pinterest user is within their customer journey, there\u2019s a solid chance they won\u2019t be ready to buy from you just yet!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is why it\u2019s important to also be creating Standard Pins and Video Pins! The Pinterest user might engage with your Idea Pin and even follow you. You Don\u2019t Have a Solid Pinterest Sales Funnel<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you don\u2019t have a solid Pinterest sales funnel, this could definitely impact your ability to convert your idea person on Pinterest!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emileevales.com\/staging\/9789\/what-in-the-world-is-a-pinterest-sales-funnel\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here you can read more about what a Pinterest sales funnel is and why it\u2019s important to understand it<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But for now, here are some of the reasons why not having a solid Pinterest sales funnel could negatively be impacting your Pinterest conversions:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first step to the Pinterest sales funnel is your ideal audience entering in their keywords for their search. If you don\u2019t have a keyword strategy, and you\u2019re not optimizing your content for the search engine, this will create a huge disconnect. When you haven\u2019t optimized your content for the search engine, then you\u2019re making it really challenging for your ideal customer to find you!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you don\u2019t have eye-catching Pins images\/designs. Even if your ideal customer finds you on Pinterest, they might scroll right past your content if it\u2019s not visually appealing or hooking them in\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You don\u2019t have a clear CTA (call-to-action) on your Pins. You Don\u2019t Have a Solid Sales Funnel For Your Business<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I always say this as it pertains to ads, \u201cAds won\u2019t fix a broken funnel\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When I say a funnel, I mean the customer journey you\u2019re taking your ideal person on. That way they can decide if they want and need what you\u2019re offering!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re thinking, \u201cEmilee, can we go back a second, I need a refresher on what a sales funnel is for my business\u201d, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/emileevales.com\/staging\/9789\/three-reasons-why-you-need-a-sales-funnel\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you can check out this blog post here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unless you have a really strong website strategy and a great conversion rate for your cold audience converting on your website\u2026 you\u2019re going to need a solid sales funnel in order to get the conversions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means once people get to your website, how are you getting them on your email list? Once they\u2019re on your email list, what\u2019s your welcome or nurture sequence like for your emails?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are people opening your emails, and if so, are they ultimately buying from you?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your sales funnel definitely could be an issue if you\u2019re actually getting people to your site, but you still aren\u2019t getting sales!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I would look at the sales funnel, and look for bottlenecks, or where people are dropping off!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>4. You Haven\u2019t Given Pinterest Enough Time, Especially With Your Unique Audience<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is pretty simple. If you\u2019ve just got started on Pinterest, then you really haven\u2019t given the platform enough time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pinterest is a search engine and it can take 3-6 months <\/span><b><i>at least <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to really start gaining traction and seeing those conversions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on your audience and what you\u2019re marketing, this can also impact your conversions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, a B2B audience (business to business) can take more time and be a more challenging conversion than B2C (business to consumer).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With my audience being B2B, it\u2019s a bit more challenging.
